Power of Peer Pressure
Hey Everyone,
So today I am talking about the power of peer pressure. I know that we all have that friend that says if you don`t do this you are not cool. Some of these supposedly "cool" things include cheating on your boyfriend, smoking marijuana, drinking alcohol, and ditching school. Now, what are you supposed to do when some one says that your not "cool"? Are you supposed to start doing all those things? Are you supposed to laugh your way out of it? The answer to all of those is find what you think is right, or if you are a believer pray to God and look to him for guidance. My advice is to look to God and pray. Asking a trusted adult is a good idea too. Although, it may be tough at times, you have to trust that God and your parent know what is best for you. Peer pressure is every where, whether you are at school or when you are at home in a group chat. One peer pressure I have faced was about a year ago. That pressure was to give up on my life, friends, and family. I am diagnosed with depression and this pressure had gotten so bad that I even began to talk about it. Being "cool" is not exactly cool. It makes you upset and doubt your self. Peer pressure is not cool. What is going to happen if you give in to the pressure? The cost of giving in to pressure is you can hurt your self, loose valuable friends, and even deplete your reputation. All those "friends" that pressured you into being "cool", know that you would do it just to stay in the friend circle. When you face peer pressure, you should tell them that you don`t want to harm yourself in the long run. The other thing you should say is I don`t plan to hurt the body I love from myself. I also don`t plan to get in trouble. That should make them think of if what they are doing will affect them badly.
Live your life like there is no tomorrow!
